Leeds & Grenville Community Family Health Team
PERMANENT, FULL-TIME 1.0 FTE, PROGRAM ASSISTANT
The Leeds & Grenville Community Family Health Team invites applications for a full-time, (1.0 FTE), Program Assistant. You will be expected to work at either of our locations; Brockville or Gananoque. You will be required to work evenings and weekends as required.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:
- Providing telephone and office reception
- Scanning process for Practice Solutions EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- The utilization of the EMR as it relates to Program Assistants
- Booking clients for primary health care providers
- Assist the health care providers in identifying services; providing program assistance in implementing appropriate health promotion/disease prevention, disease management services
- Accepting payment from clients for uninsured billing services and issuing transaction receipts
- Respond to daily health inquiries from clients and provide general information as needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Diploma from a recognized Community College/ University in medical office administration/health related field
- Current experience in a medical/health care setting
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- Excellent communication skills with clients challenged with health issues
- Ability to work independently and with supervision
- Ability and willingness to work with the team
- Understanding and ability to use medical terminology
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Salary to commensurate with experience (range $22.04 – $23.03 / hour). This is a unionized position – SEIU Local 1 Canada. This position is subject to mandatory enrolment in HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) & Group Benefit Plan.
